I Adore This Song

I adore it's lyrics. The melody lingers in my mind. What a beautiful song. It reminds me of an old love.

Until . . .
    ~  Sting

If I caught the world in a bottle
And everything was still beneath the moon
Without your love would it shine for me?
If I was smart as Aristotle
And understood the rings around the moon
What would it all matter if you loved me?

Here in your arms where the world is impossibly still
With a million dreams to fulfil
And a matter of moments until the dancing ends
Here in your arms when everything seems to be clear
Not a solitary thing would I fear
Except when this moment comes near the dancing's end

If I caught the world in an hourglass
Saddled up the moon so we could ride
Until the stars grew dim, Until...

One day you’ll meet a stranger
And all the noise is silenced in the room
You’ll feel that you're close to some mystery
In the moonlight everything shatters
You feel as if you’ve known her all your life
The world’s oldest lesson in history

Here in your arms where the world is impossibly still
With a million dreams to fulfil
And a matter of moments until the dancing ends
Here in your arms when everything seems to be clear
Not a solitary thing do I fear
Except when this moment comes near the dancing’s end

Oh, if I caught the world in an hourglass
Saddled up the moon, we would ride
Until the stars grew dim
Until the time that time stands still, Until...

Life's Lessons

I found this wonderful inspirational article the other day in my archives. I'm not quite sure the date of it. It is a list of personal life lessons written by 90 year old Regina Brett, from Plain Dealer, Cleveland, Ohio. What a remarkable lady. Wow! Did she nail it! Things that I had been mulling over in my mind were listed right in front of me. It's funny how we're guided to find our own answers, whether it's from another person or our own experiences. Keep your eyes and ears open, but most important keep your heart open as well. The answers will find you.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me. It is the most requested column I've ever written. My odometer rolled over to 90 last August, so here is the column once more."  ~  Regina Brett.
  1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.
  2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.
  3. Life is too short – enjoy it.
  4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and family will.
  5. Pay off your credit cards every month.
  6. You don't have to win every argument. Stay true to yourself.
  7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.
  8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.
  9. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.
  10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.
  11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.
  12. It's OK to let your children see you cry.
  13. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
  14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it.
  15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye, but don't worry, God never blinks.
  16. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.
  17. Get rid of anything that isn't useful. Clutter weighs you down in many ways.
  18. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.
  19. It's never too late to be happy. But it’s all up to you and no one else.
  20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.
  21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special.
  22. Over prepare, then go with the flow.
  23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.
  24. The most important sex organ is the brain.
  25. No one is in charge of your happiness but you.
  26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words 'In five years, will this matter?'
  27. Always choose life.
  28. Forgive
  29. What other people think of you is none of your business.
  30. Time heals almost everything. Give time time.
  31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
  32. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
  33. Believe in miracles.
  34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn't do.
  35. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.
  36. Growing old beats the alternative of dying young.
  37. Your children get only one childhood.
  38. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.
  39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.
  40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back.
  41. Envy is a waste of time. Accept what you already have, not what you need
  42. The best is yet to come...
  43. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
  44. Yield.
  45. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift.
       Thank you Regina Brett. Your words are AWESOME!
A Story to Him
There's a story to him,
it's hidden away.
Something not said,
it's hidden away.
I know this feeling,
it's hidden away.
The puzzle has fled,
it's hidden away.
Off to a place,
it's hidden away.
Between the rocks,
it's hidden away.
Grass grows deep,
it's hidden away.
A treasure map sleeps,
it's hidden away.
Into tarnished gold,
it's hidden away.
Where no one weeps,
it's hidden away.
The tide becomes bold,
it's hidden away.
Not a soul knows,
it's hidden away.
Coffee for the Soul
Think of this like a cup of coffee to get you going. It's coffee for the soul.
Ephesians 1:18-21: "I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come."
 The inner strength we need to give us hope.
Human Nature Always Wins, Love Wins
Favorite quotes from "Laws of Attraction." A romantic comedy movie, where opposite attracts and tries hard not to attract sums up these two divorce lawyers, Daniel Rafferty (Pierce Brosnan) and Audrey Woods (Julianne Moore) entanglement. Human nature always wins. Love wins.
|Audrey Woods:  Are you crazy?
|Sara:  Yes, but I'm also your mother.
|Audrey Woods:  A sincere apology is just a manipulation tactic like forgiveness or generosity.
|Sara: You are so adorable when you're going for the kill.
|Daniel Rafferty: Are you really 56?
|Sara:  Parts of me are.
|Sara: Is this Rafferty guy cute?
|Audrey Woods:  I didn't notice. Besides he's not your type. He's old enough to drive.
|Audrey Woods: Oh, boy, don't you try to analyze me with your whole, disheveled Bohemian my socks don't match so therefore I have insight into all things wacko mindset. There are no psychoanalytical shortcuts into my pants.
|Audrey Woods: Yes seriously, my first response is always the truth. It's a rule that I live by personally and professionally. Person's first response, what they truly feel. Intimacy doesn't change a thing. Business is business.
|Audrey: Oh look, medical waste in a glass. No umbrella?
|Daniel Rafferty: This is an Old Cuban traditions I've learned. Before the dual, two opponents drink "Huevos de chivo" together.
It means: Just because I'm trying to kill you, doesn't mean I don't love and respect you.
|Daniel Rafferty: If you can reach out and touch the horizon, you're at your journeys end.
|Audrey Woods:  James Joyce?
|Daniel Rafferty: My Uncle Clive, but, equally profound, don't you think?
